I’m so excited to be partnering with Apartment Guide’s New Year, New Style campaign. The new year makes me long for freshening up and organization in our home after the holiday clutter. If you’re ready for a whole new space or are looking to move, Apartment Guide has the photos, floor plans, features and tips to help you find the perfect apartment community.
The first place I start with giving a room a fresh new look is with paint. I love the color in the room that used to be my daughter’s room, now a guest room/dressing room-to-be:
It’s a bright yellow/green. Yellow expresses happiness and optimism, and you might be a glass half full type of person if you choose to decorate with this bright, cheery color. Green is a color that denotes harmony and balance, and those drawn to green are often creative and mature types. What does your choice of color mean about you? I’m working on making this guest room have a double function. Guest room (1 of 2) and dressing room since we rarely get guests but I do get dressed every single day and love clothes so I love making the most of this space. Of course, I need to stick to a tight budget. We have so many projects and I want to make my money stretch. Apartment Guide offers how-to tips for making the most of your space on a budget. Great tips if you’re ready to redecorate your home but short on cash: Apartment Guide can help you find inexpensive decorating ideas for how to update an area or room without spending a lot of money.
Have any ideas of what you’d do to organize clothes, shoes and accessories? I love the wall color and want to utilize a lot of what I already have. Here are some pictures of what I have to work with:
With doors now:
I’m definitely thinking of ways for the best use of space in the closets. Shelves to the wasted upper space for sure. Stay tuned for the New Year, New Style dressing room reveal and an awesome giveaway!
