Just in case you didn’t know, I’m excited to share this! I can’t wait for the premiere of HGTV’d, a new series where HGTV travels across America, surprising fans with home makeovers resulting in over-the-top transformations by their favorite HGTV designers.
The makeovers will feature stunning room designs created by HGTV stars such as David Bromstad (Color Splash), John Gidding (Curb Appeal: The Block), and Vern Yip (HGTV Design Star) and is hosted by Tanika Ray. I’m going to enjoy getting an up-close-and-personal look at these beautiful new renovations, many of which have been remodeled and revamped with unique designs. I can’t wait to see the transformation and reveals!
Want to join me in shamelessly displaying your home’s biggest home design eyesore?
Edit: Here is the sad story of the front of our house, something I haven’t shared with you. Previous owners created an enclosed porch. However – they took away the front door! We’re front-door-less! We’d love your vote: Low number means you agree we need help (I think). (Let me know if you’ve entered and I’ll vote for you too!)

The new series will kick off on Monday, June 6th on HGTV.
Would you scream with joy or horror if this pulled up in your driveaway? It’s a little bittersweet, isn’t it? Hurray! A makeover! Oh no…the world will see what I don’t share – my biggest darkest home disaster secret! lol (Don’t worry…I love old homes and see the potential too. We have tons of projects and scary areas to our home but we’re working on changing that.) What’d you LOVE to have transformed in your home?
Sadly, we DID enter our kitchen months and months and months ago. And I have to say we were quite disappointed with the lack of information HGTV gave in the beginning anyways. We werent able to find rules, time frames, requirements, or even how the voting was rated(it was very confusing). And when I say WE I mean everyone who voted for us didnt know whether they should be voting 1 for totally ugly and needing a makeover or the highest rating of 5 stars, which said "It looks great."…great as in the room is good as it is or its perfect for needing a makeover?
Our kitchen has been ranked 5th as far as views rec'd in the kitchen category but we never heard anything from the show so I guess thats not good news.
We really thought we'd have a shot at it. Our home is OLD (1860) and our kitchen is bare bones with no counter space and FIVE doorways shooting off of it. It desperately needs help but we'll most likely never be able to afford a redo on one income.
And people have already asked us what we'd do/how we'd respond if we ever won. Ive told them I think Id have a heart attack(Im 31) on the front porch and then hubbys next wife would be enjoying my kitchen!:)
So thats my story. And heres the link to our entry. We'd love your votes everyone!

I voted for you, and I'd love your vote as well! My kitchen is pretty awful…

I agree with Handbags, it was confusing to enter. I haven't heard from the show either so I guess we're both out!
BTW, Handbags, I voted for you as well! 😉
Well, by spreading the word…maybe we'll help make it a success and be considered next season. Stay positive! I'd love to be able to help the both of you redo your kitchens on a budget – with this old house, we're becoming experienced in "tight budget makeovers!" I voted for the both of you!
Our front door is were our only deck/porch is and everyone gets confused because they cant see the door when coming up to the house.
Awe, Jacqueline! I feel your pain. We don't have a front door, but we have a side entrance that we don't use, two sets of French doors on the back and a basement door. Sometimes finding a delivery is a treasure hunt! lol We currently enter through a set of French doors in the back to our kitchen but one day, my house will have a welcoming front entrance once again. One project at a time. 😉

Voted for you! Good luck with all the remodeling-luckily we haven't had to do that yet.
If you've got a spare second, could you vote for me over at Snap? I don't have an awful room that needs help, but I do have a need to attend an awesome conference! I'm #9! Thanks so much!

Handbags I just voted for you! and you too Roeshel! it feels so wrong to vote a 1? I hope I read that right and didn't screw you guys up!
I voted for your house Roeschel and for your other 2 readers. If you hover your mouse over the stars, it tells you that 1 star is "uber ugly", 2 is "I see trouble", 3 is "needs TLC", etc.
Oh my gosh, I'm SO excited for this show!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
