Just a little update. We’re snowed in!
Last night, the grape arbor looked beautiful…
It’s the perfect weekend for painting since there’s nowhere to go. Every place is closed.
This time, please don’t judge. I know it’s a disaster, but check out the difference a lighter color can make! Our livingroom is growing bigger!
It’s still a work in progress but isn’t the new wall color a huge improvement?
Back to painting!

Are you snowed in?
DIY projects this weekend?
Totally snowed in, and with extra kids to boot 🙂 I'm thinking the sewing machine might be calling to me…
No snow here but also have painting on the docket for this weekend. Love the new color and can't wait to see your final pics.
Love the new color! It is inspiring me to paint my red TV room a lighter brighter color. Funny how much I don't like the red anymore, cause I loved the color at the time.
I like it! Please share paint brand and color.
Anon – Paint is Benjamin Moore Smokey Taupe. It looks very tan on the paint swatch but as you can see on the walls, it's more of a gray/beige. That back wall is only 1 coat so far too (no primer since red is only 2 years old – BM Hot Apple Cider – on top of primer). I love BM paint!
Love the new color. No new snow here but cold temps so painting is on my docket as well. (and my Christmas lights are still up too.)
Wow thats a lot of snow.
I bought a new snow blower this year and havent had chance to use it, not sure if I want that much but I would settle for a few inches!!
Good luck and hope it doesnt get too much worse.
Bob…
Beautiful snow pictures! Love the holiday decorations too! Wow! The lighter color make a big difference! Stay warm!
I'm doing the same thing here although I'm not completely snowed in, but we did get about 12 inches. I know exactly what you mean about leaving Christmas decor up because it's too cold outside. We were lucky enough to get a small warm up two weeks ago and I decided to brave it then.
Yep, snowed in…maybe a foot and a half/two feet in my area of Virginia. The kids are driving me nuts! 🙂
Omigosh, I have never seen snow like that in my LIFE. Woah. What an amazing transformation thus far in that room, hard to believe, isnt it?! 🙂
cold, dreary, a smidgen of snow… dusting really. Sorry you're snowed in, but you are making the best of it!
Love, love, love the new look!
I would love to work on projects, but it's too cold to go dig through the garage for something to do.
Looking forward to the super bowl tomorrow!
good luck, I hope you keep power!

We're snowed in too! We lost power for 9 hours this morning. It was so cold in the house. The living room is looking great. We're redoing our bathroom. Should be done soon. GL on getting your project done =) Talk to you soon
Love your new paint color. I need to do some painting here too. Love & blessings from NC!
Great project for a snowy weekend. Love the new color!
We were supposed to get major snow, too, last night and into today. Instead, we had a cloudy cold day with a couple of snow showers with no accumulation. I would have liked to go out today, but I kept thinking "it's going to start any time now; better stay home". Your yard looks beautiful covered and I guess a lot of people are getting many of their indoor projects done!
The red looks great, you'll have no problem finishing it since its cold and snowy outside. Have fun, the pictures are beautiful!
LOVE the snow pictures – and yes I can say LOVE since I live in Florida – today, blue sky, sunny and a balmy 70 degrees.
Live in Miami and getting ready to host the Super Bowl.

I really like the new color too. Where are you guys located? We have just got cold cold rain in Alabama, but it is rather dreary outside so I was thinking of painting the five year old's room. The new construction next door did a deep brown in the dining room and I showed it to Cooper today- he said nope, too brown. And my husband said that it looked like poop. 😀 Hope the snow stops soon for you!
Looks great! No we got rain last night and flurries today but nothing big. It is really cold here though! Have fun! I hope you have all you need to finish your project. Looks great.
Hugs, Lisa
Oh my – we had snow like that last year! This year has been such a mild winter so far! Sorry you are snowed in, but the paint looks amazing! Good for you!
The snow is pretty! Pretty in pictures that is. 🙂
Love the new wall color!
Too funny because a few years ago we went from off white to a "raspberry truffle" color in our sunroom which luckily I still love! Did stick with a tan in the living room, tho. Good luck with your project !

P.S. Today is the 32nd anniversary of the Blizzard of '78 and we in New England are thrilled to have dodged the bullet of the current storm….
All I can do is say stay warm. Lovely color.
The snow is beautiful, but what a PITA! I love the red too! You are so much more brave to use color than I'll ever be!
Thanks everyone! I loved the red two years ago but it's on it's way out. The lighter color is the new one. I managed to get half of the living room done and it looks so much better and lighter than it did dark red. I love it!
Have a great day!
Love the pictures of the snow but would not like the cold. An ice rink is my idea of frigid. I hope your family is safe and warm.
I love the progress you are making on the living room. It IS growing. I'm anxious to see the finished project!
Being snowed in apparently has it's advantages.
Snowed in here in NoVA! Plan on finish up painting the nursery, found a cute idea on how to paint scallops.

Only a little snow here…but I am loving your pics. We had tons of snow over the holidays and our pics looked similar. We are supposed to get more snow tonight and I am really wishing for a snow day so I can finish up some projects around the house.
The snow is beautiful (I lived in the midwest most of my life). I'm glad your able to paint, yes, things are looking bigger and brighter.
20 inches, is that all? I live in Northern MN, so that is nothing to us! Schools & the mall would still be open! Crazy how different it is! Glad you had a project to work on while you were stuck inside, how long will things stay shut down, a week?? 🙂 Have fun, can't wait to see the finished room!
20 inches! What is the name of the new color? Your room looks enormous even with the dark red. I can't wait to see the completed project.
